We offer great gear and experiences, to support our relationship with nature, not to jeopardize it.
One of the simplest ways to increase planetary repair and acts of reciprocity is to take care of our stuff. Knowing this, we set out to make it even easier for guests to breathe new life into Arc’teryx gear that has seen better days with the first ever ReBirdTM Service Center. Located within our new Broadway store in New York, NY the service center is the first of it’s kind for both the brand and industry, and a physical manifestation of our ReBirdTM program – an initiative that connects guests to the brand’s ongoing commitment to circularity, including upcycling, resale, and care and repair.
Curious what you can expect at the new space? Think of it as our take on your favourite neighbourhood bike shop, minus the repair costs. All services are complimentary, and if your gear requires more significant repairs we’ll send it off to our Arc’One factory in Vancouver, BC (as long as it falls within our warranty policy). As a last resort, if we can’t fix it we’ll give you the necessary fabric and hardware to take it to a third-party who can — anything to keep your gear from ending up in the landfill.
Our services include:
-Product assessment: in-store after-sales assessment, including GORE-TEX leak testing.
-In-store care & education: hands-on education about product care; in-house technical wash service; and renewal of face fabric Durable Water Repellent (DWR).
-In-store repair: zipper repair services including slider, pull cord, pull-and bottom box replacement; cord ends, cord locks, and buckle replacement; as well as adhesive patches and heat pressed internal patches.
-Expert repair: color choices are offered for GORE-TEX fabric replacement or full zipper replacement before these are sent off for fulfillment.
Want to expand your gear closet in a way that’s more conscious for both the planet and your wallet? Our service center is the first brick-and-mortar space that offers a selection of Arc’teryx Used Gear products. All our Used Gear is carefully inspected and repaired before it hits the rack, meaning you get the same high-quality gear at lower prices. On the flip side, you can trade in gear you’re not using and we’ll find someone who will — moving us all towards a more circular way of operating.
If you’re ready to invest in something new, you can shop our full selection of product offerings within our new Broadway location, adjacent to the Service Center. Hungry for a ReBirdTM Service Center near you? Stay tuned for more locations like this, coming soon to Canada and elsewhere in the U.S in 2022.
