GABRIEL MORGAN, CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER

Having joined Arc’teryx in mid-2023 as Chief Information Officer, Gabriel Morgan leads the Information Systems organization accountable for building and operating the technology that runs the company.

Gabriel began his career over 25 years ago as a software engineer and then grew into leadership positions designing and delivering some of the largest platforms in the world for some of the most iconic companies in the world including Starbucks Digital Commerce, Rakuten Online, Microsoft Xbox, Xbox Live, and O365 Online. He left Microsoft to serve as Chief Architect for REI to lead the evolution of their architecture practice focused on scalable omnichannel services, digital commerce, data platform and personalization, as well as all corporate systems. His passion for specialty retail led him to join Starbucks to lead the Enterprise Architecture practice responsible for the design for all customer-facing systems, worldwide. Key accomplishments include advancements in Starbuck's omnichannel platform, mobile application ordering, marketing platform, personalization platform, and the European digital commerce platform. Before joining Arc'teryx, Gabriel served as Chief Technology Officer at Producers Trust, leading provider sustainable supply chains, to lead the design and delivery of their global digital marketplace platform enabling the transition to regenerative agriculture for millions of farmers ultimately goaled to reduce CO2e emissions and sequester CO2e to address climate change.

Gabriel is a technologist and has been responsible for bringing paradigm shifts in the companies he has worked for such as generative artificial intelligence and machine learning, cloud architecture, big data and analytics, blockchain and cryptocurrencies.

Born and raised in the Los Angeles area, Gabriel spent a lot of his childhood hiking in the desert mountains and surfing the waves at Huntington Beach. In his mid-twenties, he relocated to Australia and then Singapore before settling in Seattle. Gabriel enjoys backpacking, hiking, and travelling the globe. On a typical day you can find Gabriel working out, playing blitz chess, or training martial arts.
