NORTH VANCOUVER, British Columbia, March 9, 2022  The Arc’teryx Alpine Academy, the world’s biggest educational event for mountain enthusiasts, is ready to take it to new heights in its 11th year, from June 30 – July 3, 2022. Over the course of four days, Chamonix will be rocking with this celebrated event which brings together the alpine community in an environment where they can enhance and elevate their mountain skills, get inspired and connect with like-minded people.

For this 11th edition, the Arc’teryx Alpine Academy will present a series of intimate in-person clinics in the stunning Mont-Blanc Massif and Chamonix Valley, including selected highlight clinics with some of the world’s top mountain athletes. This year we’ll also crank up the music experience and take it to the next level with a unique line-up in a stunning location. Stay tuned for more on this amazing addition to the Alpine Academy as we unveil the artists in the coming weeks and months and truly get the festival feeling started.

At the Alpine Academy we also have public events, experiences, activities and music with free admission open to all locals and visitors in the Chamonix area. With the prime spot in the Alpine Village at Place du Triangle de l’Amitié in the heart of Chamonix, guests can try their hand at mastering the bouldering wall, check out the artistic performances and chill out in the pop-up bar and lounge. Our elevated stage offers all visitors the opportunity to view world film premieres, listen to top guest speakers, and jam out to our live DJ sets.

For those who want to get more involved the Alpine Academy also gives guests the opportunity to peek behind the Arc’teryx curtain as we guide them through what goes into creating top alpine products with a look at R&D, manufacturing and testing of new products at Arc’teryx. They will even have the chance to experience how some products are given a new lease of life. At our Gear Library located nearby, visitors can also take advantage of the opportunity to test Arc’teryx alpine products for themselves in this ruggedly beautiful setting.

“The Alpine Academy has already become a core date on the Alpine calendar but rather than rest on our successes, this year we’re definitely taking it to new heights! We have a fully stacked clinic program to cater for all levels and budgets and an awesome Alpine Village offering free for all visitors. But this year I’m particularly stoked about the unique music experience we’re adding as we evolve the event into a true mountain culture festival. My message is simple – Be there!” says Max Müller, EMEA Sports Marketing Manager at Arc’teryx.

ON MOUNTAIN CLINICS FOR EVERY INTEREST AND SKILL LEVEL

The program of over 40 clinics across a variety of disciplines caters for all levels of expertise, offers opportunities for all budgets, and accommodates individuals, pairs, groups and families. Highlights this year include priceless experiences such as Climb & Portaledge Night as well as iconic climbs like “Arête des Papillons” for the most advanced.  For entry levels the new “Acclimatization and Alpine Skills Development” will set the base, while special clinics such as Vertical Photography or Permafrost & Glaciology cater for special interest topics.
