Chief Financial Officer

Chris Tham

Over the last two decades, Chris Tham has put his passion for finance to work through a number of leadership positions at prominent organizations in the consumer retail space. Today, as Chief Financial Officer, Chris is responsible for leading the finance organization at Arc’teryx with a focus on building out the team and its capabilities to support the business’ strategy and growth plans.  

In his most recent role as Chief Financial Officer of Bailey Nelson, a multinational direct-to-consumer eyecare brand, Chris was responsible for global finance, strategic planning, merchandise planning and commercial operations. 

Prior to that, Chris spent nine years shaping the finance team at lululemon. As International CFO, he led lululemon’s Asia Pacific and EMEA financial operations, which included over 70 stores spanning more than 10 countries.  Preceding his role as International CFO, he led the financial planning and investor relations functions at lululemon.  During his tenure, the business grew sevenfold and opened over 300 stores. Chris has also held senior finance roles at Intrawest, the former owner of Whistler Blackcomb, which he helped take private in 2006.  

A born and raised Vancouverite, Chris obtained his Bachelor of Commerce from UBC Sauder School of Business and is a Chartered Professional Accountant. Chris enjoys playing ice hockey and getting into nature with his dog and three sons. He is also a proud advocate of supporting the community and serves as Board Director and Treasurer of Madrona School Society, an independent school focused on developing and nurturing gifted children to help them reach their full potential.
