The 2015 King of Dolomites wrapped up in beautiful San Martino di Castrozza, Italy on Sunday, capping off the event’s successful third year in style. With 13 professional photography teams battling it out for top prize with an astounding 108 participants in the open ‘Wannabes’ category. This year solidified the King of Dolomites as one of the premier photography and freeride events on the European winter calendar. Regardless of the difficult conditions during the competition days the competitors created copious amounts of stunning photos. One of the youngest Pro teams with photographer Guy Fattal (23) from Israel and his friends Austrian riders Dorian Konrad (20) and Lukas Steger (21) won the crown of King of Dolomites 2015.
Despite the young age of the winning team, the judges Riky Felderer, Stefano Vegliani and Emilio Previtali were impressed by his photography skills. Guy Fattal captured Dorian Konrad riding in front of the stunning Pale di San Martino. He created a magical composition in black and white that epitomizes the beauty of the Dolomites and even made the rock formation look like the crown of a king.

Stefan Schlumpf, Ane Enderud and Lucas Swieykowsy made the second place. The Swiss photographer got a shot of Lucas riding on the Rosetta Plateau in the sunset – a beautiful composition of landscape, lights and colours.

Alex Buisse, Paolo Marazzi and Gaspard Piccet were awarded third place for this shot of Paolo Marazzi coming back up the Couloir Merda after a rappel into the couloir and a ride down. The jury wanted to celebrate this alpinist approach that corresponds with the progression of the sport.

In addition, 2014 Arc’teryx Deep Winter champion Zoya Lynch took home the jury’s special mention prize for a photo that plays magnificently with light and shade.
