We might be biased, but we’re going to go ahead and say that the 2016 Arc’teryx Climbing Academy was the best one yet.

After welcoming us to beautiful Squamish, BC with a bit of rain, Mother Nature was able keep the weather under control and gave us a few perfect days to celebrate our climbing community. The best climbers in the game were stoked to be back climbing on the legendary Squamish granite and all of the participants were just as stoked to pick their knowledgeable brains.

Days were filled with clinics in the coastal mountains and eating Mags 99 tacos and sipping beers in the trade fair beneath the face of the Chief. Evenings offered the best view in the house atop the Sea to Sky Gondola to enjoy the speaker series, live music and yoga (by Prana) overlooking Howe Sound.

“The vibe and energy at this year’s Academy was so strong. It made it truly feel like a community event, and was the most successful yet. Thanks for being so amazing, Squamish!” Justin Sweeny, Arc’teryx Climbing Academy organizer.
Thanks to everyone who came out to the climbing Academy to share tips, learn or just to join the party. We already can’t wait to do it all again next year!
